Trek along the Colorado Trail this winter with our experienced guides. This moderately intense 4-to-5-mile snowshoe trek will let three-season hikers learn new skills that will have you hiking year-round.
Meet your guides on the west side of Highway 285, next to the Kenosha Pass Campground. You'll briefly review snowshoeing techniques and learn important tips about hiking in the winter. Depending on weather, you will follow the Colorado Trail to the east or west. The eastern route will take you through wooded sections that can be a bit less windy. The trail will skirt the south side of Twin Cone Peak, with excellent views. In lighter winds, you will head west up an open ridge that offers panoramic views of South Park and the Mosquito Range. The hike will climb approximately 500 feet in elevation.

*Synthetic clothing dries quickly and is the best choice for outdoor pursuits. Please do not wear cotton clothing. When wet, cotton rapidly robs the heat from your body and takes a long time to dry. We also recommend you dress in multiple layers, allowing you more flexibility to comfortably respond to the weather conditions and your level of exertion.
†Please call ahead if you plan to use your own equipment as it must pass inspection by L.L.Bean staff before use. If it's deemed unsuitable, we will provide you with the necessary equipment.
