Course Description

Geocaching is a fun, family-friendly activity in which a GPS is used to search for objects hidden throughout the landscape. Our two-and-a-half-hour adventure is a great opportunity for you to try this exciting sport – plus you'll learn how to navigate with a GPS.

You'll start by learning the basics of GPS use, including inputting and marking waypoints, plotting your route and navigating with your GPS. Our expert instructors will guide you step by step, showing you all kinds of tips and tricks that make a GPS easy to use.

You'll then head out on your adventure, exploring local trails in search of the hidden objects on your list. As you search, your guide will share their knowledge of the area's history and point out unique wildlife and terrain features.

All necessary geocaching equipment is provided.

Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

*Synthetic clothing dries quickly and is the best choice for outdoor pursuits. Please do not wear cotton clothing. When wet, cotton rapidly robs the heat from your body and takes a long time to dry. We also recommend you dress in multiple layers, allowing you more flexibility to comfortably respond to the weather conditions and your level of exertion.

We had Bruce as an instructor for this course. Not only was the course laid out in an engaging format, but the instructor was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. the combo of learning the layout of a Topo map and being able to apply the instruction with field work was invaluable. I'd recommend this course and look forward to an advanced course if offered.
