Course Description

Help your child get outside, meet new friends, try new activities and play in the snow by signing them up for our Kids' Camp.

Surrounded by the natural beauty of our private winter recreation area in Freeport, Maine, each day at our Kids' Camp we provide an exciting new selection of adventures for your camper. Our friendly, experienced staff will help campers explore a wide variety of small, group activities, including cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, geocaching, orienteering, shelter building and sledding.

We'll also play games and enjoy exploring nature with tree identification, winter ecology, animal adaptations and more. Our camp encourages campers to develop confidence, try new winter sports and explore Maine's great outdoors.

This camp is offered Monday through Friday of vacation week (February 19-23) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can sign your child up by the day or the week. Campers should be dropped off and picked up at L.L.Bean Paddling Center on Lower Flying Point Road in Freeport.

All necessary snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and sledding equipment is provided.

L.L.Bean does not usually cancel events due to inclement weather. However, we reserve the right to cancel an event at any time due to severe weather, low enrollment or other concerns. If L.L.Bean cancels your event, you will receive a full refund for the cost of your reservation

Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

*Synthetic clothing dries quickly and is the best choice for outdoor pursuits. Please do not wear cotton clothing. When wet, cotton rapidly robs the heat from your body and takes a long time to dry. We also recommend you dress in multiple layers, allowing you more flexibility to comfortably respond to the weather conditions and your level of exertion.
