  • Why We Love It

Wind and beach umbrellas can be a tough combination. This unique umbrella was tested to withstand wind gusts up to 52 mph in the standard upright position, and gusts up to 39 mph in a 45-degree tilted position. This is achieved with an innovative, patented venting system in the canopy that lets wind pass through rather than lifting the entire umbrella up.

I performed this modification as well and it works like a charm. Thank you for positing the suggestion. Hopefully LL Bean reads this and makes a change. Unmodified this umbrella does not live up to its claims of being wind resistant.
