    Fit not right for me
Really liked jacket but too large in shoulders. This was large size. Also tried medium which fit fine in shoulders but too tight in waist. Likely the problem... more

    Best Bomber
This is my second of these. I went from a large to a medium. Gave the large away and that party still has it -- the jacket must be over 20 years old.... more

    Exceptional jacket
As per LL Beans usual, this is a very well made product. As far as the materials go, they seem to be very high quality, and the leather across the two... more

Your comment helped a lot. My husband has long arms and a short torso and it sounds like you are around the same build. Did you order the tall or the regular in a medium?

For years I have been eyeing the Bean Flying Tiger Jacket. I decided to take the plunge recently and am so happy with the jacket. Having owned countless leather jackets before a few things stuck out to me as soon as I tried it on. First, having purchased the "unlined" version so that I can wear it seasonally in the Northeast from fall to Spring, I expected a lighter weight jacket. On the contrary, this jacket is very heavy! I can't imagine how heavy the thinsulate or wool lined jacket has to be! Secondly, I'm 5'5" and about 160 lbs. I normally wear a large jacket but the medium fit me perfectly. The large was clearly too big! Finally, this is not a soft leather jacket like a soft lambskin...this being a true flight jacket the leather is on the rough side and very thick. It looks awesome and I can tell the quality is second to none. I love it! Five Stars!!!

A good tailor probably could have fixed that for $60-75.

I absolutely agree, I will be ordering my 5th jacket this fall. The jackets consistently fit well and are exceeding durable except for the lining. I'm still wearing the older jacket over a lightweight fleece from the North Face which would actually make a great lining during cooler seasons if I had the skill to stitch it in myself.

    Looks nice
The jacket is just as pictured. However, it is so much heavier than I expected for an uninsulated jacket. The weight makes it quite stiff and less comfortable... more
