Winter is one of our favorite times to get outside, and this year, we’re committed to making it yours, too. We’ll help you bundle up and bliss out with a season full of free and discounted winter sports, outdoor fun and engaging activities for the entire family – every day, all across the great state of Maine.
We are committed to following all federal CDC and state guidelines for your health and safety, with special attention given to social distancing, enhanced cleaning and limiting the size of gatherings.
Winter Fun in Maine
We’ll be looking out for your well-being this winter while you sled, skate, snowshoe, spin and soak in some culture with special activities and outings in locations from Portland to Freeport and beyond.

L.L.Bean Kids' Snow Tubing Nights
Thursdays at Seacoast Adventure, Windham, ME
$6 unlimited tubing, Jan. 21-Mar. 11, from 5-8 p.m.

Free Sledding
Sundays at Bradbury Mountain, Pownal, ME
Jan. 3-Feb. 28 (conditions permitting), from 1-3 p.m.
Free inner-tube sleds and helmets will be available and thoroughly sanitized before each session. Helmets are required (you are also welcome to bring your own).
L.L.Bean Family Skating Night
Wednesdays at Thompson's Point, Portland, ME
$4 discounted admission (skate rentals available for $3), all season, from 3-9 p.m.
Free Skate Ski Outings
Saturdays at Pineland Farms, New Gloucester, ME
Jan. 2-Mar. 13 (conditions permitting), starting at 9 a.m.
Glide along Pineland’s groomed woodland trails, led by an experienced Outdoor Discovery Programs guide. Trail pass and some skate ski experience required. Please bring your own equipment.
Free Spin Classes with Rêve Cycling
Tuesdays at Thompson’s Point, Portland, ME
Jan. 5-Mar. 30, 12-1 p.m.
Stay fit this winter with free 60-minute spin classes. Rêve will be following strict COVID-19 protocols with limited class sizes, required face coverings, and bikes placed 12 feet apart. Spaces are extremely limited – reserve your bike today!

Free Moonlight Snowshoe Outings
Around Freeport, ME
Strap on your snowshoes, light your headlamp, and join us under the winter stars for an expertly guided, socially distanced night hike on a new trail in Freeport every month. December through February, dates and times vary. Please bring your own equipment.
