L.L.Bean to Open Retail Store at Tuscan Village in Salem, New Hampshire

Outdoor retailer announces new waterfront store in mixed-use development to open fall 2020

Internationally recognized outdoor retailer L.L.Bean, best known for its legendary customer service and high-quality gear and apparel, announced its newest retail location in the Granite State will open in the fall of 2020. The L.L.Bean retail store will be located at Tuscan Village, a premiere lifestyle destination in Salem, New Hampshire. The approximately 15,000-square-foot store will feature an assortment of active and casual apparel, outerwear and footwear, as well as gear for outdoor enthusiasts. The store will employ approximately 50 people and be a community resource to equip customers with skills and knowledge to get outside and enjoy the outdoors.

“The Merrimack Valley has outstanding outdoor recreation opportunities, as well as people who love to get out and enjoy the outdoors in their everyday lives,” said Greg Elder, retail vice president at L.L.Bean. “Salem is an ideal location for us, situated among residential communities and near the gateway to adventures in the White Mountains. We’re eager to help people get outdoors, from the backyard to the backcountry.”

Tuscan Village is a 170-acre, lifestyle destination featuring premier retail, medical, hospitality, residential, and office properties. Located just one mile north of the Massachusetts border at the former site of historic horse racing track Rockingham Park, Tuscan Village will feature 2.8 million square feet of mixed-use programming, including over 800,000 square feet of best-in-class retail.

The L.L.Bean store will be located directly on the lake at Tuscan Village, allowing customers to try out paddle sports equipment right at the store. This will be only the second store in New Hampshire offering the full L.L.Bean retail experience, including Outdoor Discovery Programs to teach skills and offer new experiences of outdoor activities to empower people to share in the joy of the outdoors. L.L.Bean currently operates a retail store in West Lebanon, as well as outlet stores in Concord, Nashua, North Conway, and North Hampton. The closest retail location to southern New Hampshire is currently in Burlington, Massachusetts.
