Pants will keep you dry and pack down to a tiny package says it all. They are what they are. If you want zippers belt loops and cargo pockets GO BUY SOME rain gear with what you want. These are for when you don't expect it to rain and had the sense to take them with you.

I bought the suit, top and bottom, for turkey hunting here in the east. Very unhappy and am returning both. The material is very noisy, there are no pockets or a means for wearing a belt, and the fit is terrible. A zipper for the fly would be nice. I am sure you will not get wet from rain but you will be soaked from perspiration. I would like to see a real effort for LL Bean to get away from the cheap junk made overseas and return to American quality. I would gladly pay more for a "quality" product.
