  • Why We Love It

The Morris Chair was first popularized in the mid 19th century by the eponymous Morris & Company and later updated in the United States by Gustav Stickley, founder of the American Craftsman Movement. Our chair hews close to Stickley’s redesign, an updated classic for the modern home.

My opinion too. I have one that I purchased when they first started carrying them about 7 years ago. The cushions simply do not fit the chair properly (or more accurately, the chair is not constructed to hold cushions properly). There is not enough overlap and contact between back and seat cushions, so the back cushion never stays in the right position. In addition, the seams on all the cushions (including footstool cushion) are crooked and uneven. The wood itself is nice. I checked the 2015 reviews to see if there were any noted improvements in newer models, but perhaps not.

We loved our Morris chair so much we bought a second one. They look great but better than that they feel great when you sit on them. We have had them several months and use them every day...our cats love them too and have to be removed so we can use them! I highly recommend them. In reply to the customer that found them hard to put together, I am a 60 year old woman and I put two chairs together with no help. They are very well made.

Hello, I am looking for something like this but for an older model of the chair I think. The cushion is one piece that folds like a futon. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Faith
