Could you give us more specific information about the exact models of the 2 LL Bean Perceptions which you mentioned in your review? Are these models still made? What is the closest to them? I want to use a kayak for camping very similar to what you describe.

This, too, is my second kayak. The first was an Old Town Dirigo that was 10' long. Good, comfortable kayak but it just didn't track as well as I thought it should. I wanted to try a boat just a tad longer (and in my favorite color, lime green) and discovered that the Pungo 120 was just the perfect fit! It's a very well-tracking boat, and I like the solid handles for carrying vs the loose carrying ropes. The console is wonderful for holding water bottles and snacks, and the seat is comfortable. There's a little space behind the seat for a dry bag as well. It's a little wider than the Dirigo, which I think makes for easy entry and exit. As already mentioned, the only item this boat is missing is a paddle holder, which would really be helpful in some situations. Otherwise, I'd say it's been a nearly perfect boat for lakes and flat water use. Definitely recommend!
